more on the crunchie vs violet crumble debate

Well, an update of the Great Crunchie versus Violet Crumble Referendum is due. Currently there is a close scoreline of 8 – 7, with Crunchies in a narrow lead.

Extra points to consider Рthe Violet Crumble is an Australian product, made in Sydney by Nestl̩, whereas the Crunchie is a Cadbury product, also available in the UK, New Zealand and Canada. (Oh, and random facts Рthe slab of Crunchie honeycomb is cut up using a jet of oil Рusing water would make the honeycomb melt, using a knife would lead to shattering)

Vote here – the fate of the nation rests in your hands.

the great violet crumble vs crunchie referendum

An important moral question arose over the weekend. As I talked to some fellow Australians I had met at the crag, we resolved a few important questions for some of the non-Australians. Marmite or Vegemite (Vegemite, of course). Vitabrits or Weetbix (Weetbix). Chicken or Cheese Twisties (Cheese). But then came the debate of Violet Crumble versus the Crunchie. But on this divisive issue the Australians could not concur. I’ve come to the conclusion that the Violet Crumble and Crunchie, both delicious chocolate covered honeycomb snacks, both have their place in the Australian psyche, and that the choice between the two must be purely a conscience vote.
