gear saturation

Gear saturation: That mythical time, at some point in the future, when you will own everything you would ever need to do anything you would ever possibly want to do.

Gear saturation is a state that you can only ever strive towards, and that you will never actually reach. Always something pops up and is incredibly necessary. And if there’s not gear to be bought for new activities, then there’s always old gear that’s past its prime, falling apart, being superseded by technological advances, or being eaten by wombats.

Indeed, if you ever actually reached gear saturation, it would truly be a sad day. You could only wander around gear stores disconsolately, your debates about which item and brand was truly the superior for the intended purpose would have no fire, and your browsing on the internet would have no point.

fans of doom

Fan Death. There are many unbelievers out there, but it’s true! The fanblades chop up air particles so the air is no longer breathable, which results in suffocation. Either that or they cause hypothermia. If you find a dead body in a room with a fan running, then you know what is responsible! Fan Death… the silent killer.

Now I must run and cower in fear for the Fans of Doom are upon us.

llama attack!

No, they’re not really llamas. As per usual, they are the vicious Australian Alpaca. I think they thought I might have food, hence the desperate hurry over to the fence to sniff at me.

My quest to find llamas may finally come to an end if I go to Chile next year. Which I might do. As well as llamas it has fjords, volcanoes, deserts and a sofa to crash on in Santiago. What more could you ask for?

back again

So, the servers my site lives on went a bit kerfluey. Back in action now though. Apparently.

Highlights of the past week: curry night, aid-climbing the chinup bar in our house, and dreadlock removal.

Lowlights: lack of sleep, supervisor failing to materialise.
