Quarry Lake

Quarry Lake – the place to be in Canmore on a warm day. Mostly so you can sit near the water rather than go in it, although some do. It’s reclaimed from an old mining area, and is apparently over 100 metres deep in some areas. Being fed by an underground mountain spring, it’s never particularly warm – although at least in July and August, it reaches the point of being refreshingly cold, rather than just hypothermia inducing.
