Back in the day, when it was warm and snowing

Well, this was actually this time last week. But still, I look back fondly on those days. It hovered around -5oC or even warmer, I took the wee Moosling out skiing with me, children ran and played in the streets, the chickens were all laying well, and Christchurch was still in one piece. Now it’s sitting on -17oC or some equally ridiculous temperature and oil wells are on fire in Libya.

Heading up the first hill after leaving the Daylodge at the Nordic Centre. I couldn’t see the trees. Once I got off Banff trail I couldn’t even see the classic set tracks.

Looking backwards from the same spot, I’d barely been skiing for a minute, and already the Chariot was coated.

Hoopin’

I got a hoop for my birthday! Courtesy of Alex (who was inspired by Vik, and a stray hoop belonging to the flatmate of a friend) it’s from Pixie Hoops. And green. And shiny. I can make it go around and around, but thanks to youtube I understand there’s a bit more to it these days…

(Oh, and apologies for any site weirdness over the last couple of days. There was a wordpress upgrade, and then things breaking, then an urgent switch to some newer design code).
