-30oC. That’s absolute zero isn’t it?

It’s not just the snow, now the bitter cold is here as well:

And this thermometer tends to read a few degrees warm too, as it’s so close to the (comparatively) nice warm house – it’s actually a little below -30oC I think. And so we already have a larger negative temperature than we ever got as a positive temperature in Summer. If you know what I mean.

Thankfully it’s supposed to start warming up again tomorrow. Until then – well it’s nearly 11am, and it might be finally starting to head towards -25oC. Maybe.

The absolute value of the temperature is higher now than it ever was in summer. Glad I escaped for the week, it’s a balmy -15 here.

I’m actually jealous…the temp won’t be below 30oC where I am going to be for the next few months..no winter for me

Brendan: Yes, absolute, that’s the word I was looking for. And I think it’s finally going to start warming up soon. Well that’s what they say, it was supposed to hit -11oC today, but still seems to be hovering suspiciously near -20oC.

Darren: Where you’re going… is this Darwin? And does this mean you won’t be around Melbourne in December when we come to visit?
