I’ve just discovered the most amazing thing. Go to the m&m shop, and you can create your own blend up m&m’s, choosing from 21 colours. They have teal m&m’s! And maroon! And gold and silver! Oh, and there’s even pre-mixed packs – such as the Silk and Lace Wedding Pack with light purple and white. Or the Holiday Hannukah pack in blue and white. You can even get them custom printed with your own message.

Apparently this is samosa. I’d always referred to them as the crunchy triangle things. That were frequently found in the company of spring rolls.
First time bouldering on Richmond Bridge today, until random hand pain intervened. There were going to be photos, but it started raining, and got all gloomy as the cold change swept over. So I guess today was the last of my sunny weather until it starts warming up in the US.
Apparently the tickets are organised, I’m leaving on Thursday morning – it was going to be Wednesday morning, but the email about it didn’t get to me, so I’ve asked for an extra day to get things sorted, particularly as today’s nearly over already. Excitement and joy, the waiting is over. Hoorah. Now I just have to sort out travel insurance, how I get a copy of my ticket, and that sort of thing. And pack. And work out the luggage allowance (do I take my skis? what climbing and hiking gear do I take? sleeping bag? tent?). And my brain is fizzing.
Some photos of the tsunami taken in and around Tonsai Beach, Thailand. My flatmate was rockclimbing there – she was actually up on the cliffs by the beach when it hit. This area was lucky, and there was relatively little damage, and very little loss of life – I think none on Tonsai Beach itself. Things didn’t go so well for Phi Phi (which is actually where climbing first kicked off in Thailand). For anyone who is interested in more information about the people from those climbing areas you loved (or how to donate to those affected areas) look here, here, and here.

This photo is from a series that was taken up on Thaiwand Wall. It was actually printed in a few different newspapers.

The wave hitting the Freedom Bar on Tonsai Beach.

Rock at Bundaleer, Grampians.
No climbing this weekend. Sitting and waiting for phone calls about plane tickets. And vicious rain and humidity that makes my skin crawl. And testing out the new fish and chip shop down the round (conclusion, a bit too pricy).
