{"id":5789,"date":"2015-12-05T23:28:53","date_gmt":"2015-12-06T05:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/evilmoose.me\/?p=5789"},"modified":"2015-12-07T23:38:29","modified_gmt":"2015-12-08T05:38:29","slug":"family-fat-biking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evilmoose.me\/?p=5789","title":{"rendered":"Family fat biking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We got out on Saturday morning to wander about on the north end of the High Rockies trail, which basically means exploring a few convenient little loops of snowshoe trails, sled dog trails, and the heavily travelled east end of the Goat Creek trail.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/evilmoose.smugmug.com\/Bikes\/2015-Bikes\/i-rz2xSP5\/0\/X2\/20151205-IMG_7178-X2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The High Rockies trail travels along the western side of the sled dog loop.  We did well on the portion that had been travelled by snowshoes, but once we hit the less packed surfaces, we started to have issues with the skinny tyre on the trail-a-bike.  It just doesn&#8217;t have the float that the fat bikes do. We either need to attach a ski, or find a way to rig a fatter tyre.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/evilmoose.smugmug.com\/Bikes\/2015-Bikes\/i-mxKCrbg\/0\/X2\/20151205-IMG_7184-X2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We turned back without having got terribly far. Still a fun wander, and it&#8217;s great beginner fat biking territory out there.
