{"id":3735,"date":"2012-08-19T21:56:01","date_gmt":"2012-08-20T03:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/evilmoose.shafted.com.au\/?p=3735"},"modified":"2012-09-06T22:07:19","modified_gmt":"2012-09-07T04:07:19","slug":"sunshine-meadows-and-the-run-out-via-healy-pass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evilmoose.me\/?p=3735","title":{"rendered":"Sunshine Meadows, and the run out via Healy Pass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With family visiting and a warm sunny day, it was time for another trip out to Sunshine Meadows.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/evilmoose.smugmug.com\/Hiking\/Canada-2012\/i-b3mfzKp\/0\/M\/20120819-IMG8889-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had lunch up at Rock Isle Lake with the ground squirrels (who didn&#8217;t get anything from us, but are quite habituated).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/evilmoose.smugmug.com\/Hiking\/Canada-2012\/i-pfqnpB9\/0\/M\/20120819-IMG8883-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then I left the menfolk behind and went for a run out to Healy Pass and then back out to the Sunshine base carpark.  It&#8217;s a cracker of a run, about 20km, and plenty of signposts, so it would be very hard to get lost. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/evilmoose.smugmug.com\/Hiking\/Canada-2012\/i-z2snRCp\/0\/M\/20120819132804-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of fantastic views along the way (above: coming across from Wawa Ridge, looking out towards Healy Pass, and below, looking back towards Sunshine Meadows from Healy Pass).  The wildflowers were out, and the bears weren&#8217;t.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/evilmoose.smugmug.com\/Hiking\/Canada-2012\/i-mVNZ43b\/0\/M\/20120819141951-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was first back to the carpark, so had time to sit with my feet in the icy cold creek.
