Summersville Lake, WV

Gorgeous weekend spent at Summersville Lake, WV. I lay around on rocks by the water, sipping martinis, while the people made fools of themselves, hurling themselves into the water after miserable attempts to scale the cliff faces.

my trip to the shawangunks, new york state

I got to the top of the cliffline at the Trapps. I even had my own little harness, which was rather uncomfortable, although I appreciate the thought.

There wasn’t really that much climbing achieved to tell the truth. Actually, definitely more driving than climbing. This is me hanging out in the van on the way back home again.

kentucky fried moosling

Spent some time bouldering while at Red River Gorge in Kentucky. I missed out on the best day of climbing though – well, the most peak-bagging day anway. A fun trip anyway. Still haven’t met a moose though. I was promised I was going to meet some mooses (meese) over here. That nice girl Katya even said she would give us the coordinates where we could go and see a moose.

old rag russell

Well, an update of my page is long overdue. I have been out doing things, but there have been technical problems, and then a mild case of depression. When you spend most of your day lying around the house watching people walk past outside, I don’t know, you just begin to lose the will to go on. It’s hard sometimes, being a moose. Particularly when you’re having to battle against constant comments about your gender – yes I am a MALE moose. Pfft. Anyway. Old Rag. Lovely granite. Nice relaxing trip. Spent some time with a nice young fellow named Vegas. Got to the summit, and stayed dry in the thunderstorm afterwards, thankfully.

moose in red rocks

My recent trip to Red Rocks, Nevada, didn’t involve any peak bagging. The weather was good though. This is me at the base of the climb Johnny Vegas, in Pine Creek Canyon.
